Lots of cities will quickly devolve into major civil unrest real soon. If I likes in one, I would definitely get out if possible.

Find a hostel that relies on hikers from the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) - many rent individual cabins. If they’re open, they’ll probably appreciate the business.

Same goes for hostels or hotels along the Appalachian Trail (east coast) or Pacific Crest Trail (west coast).

These trails just strongly encouraged all thru hikers to get off the trail and go home. It will be a tough time for businesses that rely on income from hikers.

People heading to their camps is the wisest thing. I would imagine people up North may head to their hunting camps. People in Louisiana enjoy their camps much more and they are more family orientated.

Up North camps are just for hunting and the bare essentials.

Personally I'd be concerned about my belongings back home. Bad guys will be out shopping.

Do you really want to come down with the Rona in a strange place with your doctor many miles away?

Thinking of getting the F out of New Orleans for a bit. It is crazy/irresponsible to drive to (empty) family vacation to ride this out? Don't really see the difference where i'm hunkering down.

Ever see the beginning of The Stand? Yeah.

I mean if you have 2 homes it doesn't say that you can't travel between them?

Not so sure coming down with RONA in New Orleans is any better than coming down with it somewhere more rural.

Not a rental cabin - a family property. Unoccupied in recent months.

Also struggling to see the risk difference between going to grocery store in NOLA and stopping in a gas station between here and TN? My goal here is to be around as few people as possible and being in a major metro still accessing "essential services" seems like maximizing that exposure.

If it comes to that - don't give a shite about the "stuff" in my house.

Depends where you’re going and who’s there to greet you. Family? Responsible. Expecting a vacation? Irresponsible.

My wife and I are working from home and the two kids are doing online school.

I don’t see a problem if we want to go rent a condo at the beach. We will bring our own food and stay away from others in the beach. I’m just not sure how strict they are being about being in the beach at all.
