I read this thread while watching a whale show on television. I have been whale watching on a boat. I am still amazed by the show.

I am also not a postcard traveler though.I like to stay in one place and be immersed in the area and learn a lot. So I can revisit places lots of times and never get bored. There is always more to see. Start delving deeper man.

I don’t disagree with you there. And if he had just mentioned in another thread where he’s had the chance to travel, no problem with that.

But bragging about where he’s been? It’d better be an impressive list. And his is not.

OP sounds like a spoiled brat.

He should be thankful he has been so blessed in life to have had the opportunities to travel so much.

I’m in awe of your strong opinions of me, and also how wrong you are about me. But you’re entitled to your opinion.

I leave my posts about travel to the Travel Board. Because that’s what it’s designed for. Not to brag, but to discuss travel. And I don’t stick my nose up at anyone’s trips. To each their own.

Also, the irony of you of all people trying to say someone tries to impress people on here and say they’re better than everyone else is palpable.

No African countries, no Asian countries. Not even Australia.

This is where I believe growing up in privilege is a disadvantage. They are jaded to the everyday awesomeness. The beauty in simple things.

I mean, does he realize that for a lot of people....just leaving the country is big to them and may be something they will never be able to afford.

My family has never left the US, and will never be able to afford to.

I think it’s a perspective that can be fostered, no matter the background. I know people from privileged backgrounds who are jaded as frick and people from underprivileged backgrounds who reflexively believe that everything and everyone further than a 20m radius from where they were born is a waste of time. I also know people from both privileged and underprivileged backgrounds who relish a long hike through the woods just as much or more than a 14 course tasting menu.

It’s human inclination to start to feel as though we are “over” something. But pretty much anyone can learn to either look at the bigger picture or refocus on the details, depending on which perspective they lack.

I hope I'm never in your situation. Sounds like you're ready for the 'ol dirt nap.

I've been to the Rocky Mountains over 10 times. Each time I see mountain skyline for the first time of that trip I get goosebumps.

I've worked in the travel industry for years in the past and deal with people travelling quite a bit at my current job. Its really interesting to see how people approach travel and things they appreciate. Most Europeans (and even Canadians) who travel here are far more likely to try to see the world as the locals do vs spending a fortune on high end accomodations etc. People who seem to enjoy it more are those who are a bit spontaneous, who enjoy the experience as a whole instead of ticking off items they want to see and do. It's a bit puzzling how some people are so jaded though to the simple things.

I feel that way every time the rope drops at the Magic Kingdom.

OP is either a spoiled, snotty little brat, or a half-assed troll. That’s not a real extensive travel resume. I’ve done nothing but travel since I’ve been out of LSU. I love it, I appreciate it, and rarely get tired of it. Probably won’t stop until i can’t go anymore.

This sort of happened to me when I started traveling for work. The time I realized it was in Frankfurt this summer and my wife was excited about a church and I was like whoopty doo. Nothing really impressed me.

Or maybe I just need to check out the hormone panel that judge recommended.

Many I have dealt with could.
They prefer to take the bus vs cab, stay in a campground (or hostel) vs hotel, hike and kayak.
