a lot of this, travel ball not the sole culprit but a big contributor

I just want him seeing the best center-mids as possible. Maybe he’ll pick up a move or see something that’ll really work against the much older kids in school. Probably just do the regional event and see where it goes. May skip the mid season stuff, but we’re already committed to the early season.

My world is my child and I think every child should be made to feel that way. Does not mean he’s spoiled or entitled. He faithfully goes to work and pays his own bills. Is kind to others because travel ball taught him to know sportsmanship and humility.

Then why are you on here bitching?

Mis leading title... soccer isn't "ball"...

Well we are redneck enough to be baseball parents.

Pitiful existence your whole family must endure for an underdeveloped non athletic kid to run around and wonder what somebody’s mom brought for refreshments after this stupid game is over

So from Feb - mid June (with a two week break in April), your kid will be traveling every weekend, to Mississippi, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana and Texas?
Does he really truly enjoy it? Being in 6th grade, it seems like he would be missing out on some things. Are you not concerned he is going to get tired of the game?

Well, for starters I’ve got better sense than to spend that kind of money on kid’s baseball.

That's nothing. A friends kid played high level hockey. He played for the Little Caps team with several players that are now in the NHL. We live in Virginia and they were all over New England and Canada playing tournaments with big money spent on training, personal coaches and travel. Kid was really good and had the size but he lost the passion for the game. I can't even imagine how much his parents spent over the years.
Nothing like a topper.

A kid that will not play travel ball!

And let your kid miss out on all these medals?
Posted on 1/20/19 at 5:50 pm to Gaston
You have to be a troll. No normal adult would post a picture of medals

That's ridiculous. I've always said that about that club. You're not at a level to require that type of travel.

For the last 6 years we have traveled all over the U.S. for him to compete in karate...and we wouldn't have traded any of it. Money well spent.
He has gotten to see the country and make friends in different states and countries.
We made a deal with him that if he maintained his grades and worked hard we would travel and let him compete.
Made some great memories on the way.

My kid plays 5 tournaments from March-May and 3 are in my city and 2 are 45 min away.
And I think we’re doing too much this spring

Wel where do you find competition? I don’t understand the logic.
