I too was caught in this debacle. Drove from Napoleonville to NB on Airline to Sherwood Commons in 59 minutes.
Then it took 40 minutes to travel NB on Airline from Sherwood Commons to I-12.
Beyond ridiculous and not acceptable in the 21st century.

Baton Rouge loves suicide lanes for some reason. That's what is hindering most of the traffic.

Been pretty rough this week. Had to go to Lafayette on Wednesday for work - took me an hour to get from Denham into BR, then fought the bullshite coming back in. Had to go to NOLA for work yesterday and fought the stupidity coming back into BR around Airline/I-12/Sherwood.

Been like that lately. From Jefferson/Airline to Old Hammond. Used to still be a good bit of traffic, but its been much worse the last few weeks. Could be a combination of the Jefferson construction and now the i12/i10 construction.

Do not worry, the states leading Tax Rate will clear this right up. This in combination with Louisiana's effective leadership.

I don’t know how people can live in the BR area. It’s just so frustrating to drive there. It’s a real quality of life thing

ou’re so full of shite. There’s been no executive order and telework hasn’t charged. I know people who work for three large state agencies and nothing has changed.
Yet. We will have to see if it happens, but he's looking at an executive order to end full-time remote work. My neighbor informed me of it yesterday. It appears one day a week is still possible with manager approval.

no, no, you're not thinking correctly. We have to RAISE gas taxes to fix the roads, silly. The tax rate went up because of the deficit and the fact that they lowered the income tax rate.
cant wait till the legislature convenes and comes out hand-wringing and navel gazing as they tell us that income tax rate has to go back up cause, you know, spending.

It’s crabs in a bucket mentality. They can’t stand that there are some of us who actually are able to get shite done without a boss standing over our shoulders. They know that they would never be able to qualify for this type of work because 1. They are goofball retards who can’t focus, 2. Convinced these jobs don’t exist and are not worth pursuing 3. Lack the ability and the desire to pursue a better paying job with a much higher quality of life.
I’m sure they will read this by the time they get to their job. I’m still in bed - let’s start this day OT!
1. State agencies tend to cater to the weakest link; if one person can abuse something, then nobody gets to do it. Easier to do that than swim upstream against just a few.
2. You have to have an organization that can stand firm on why some people are effective with WFH and some aren't. Those that aren't will most definitely cry foul that others get to WFH even though they know they aren't trustworthy.

There are unavoidable times we have to go into the city and rush hour is, unfortunately, the necessary time for travel. I’m used to “normal” rush hour on Airline, Old Hammond, Jefferson (I avoid because of the single fricking lane), Cedarcrest, Jones Creek, O’Neal…
The day after Mardi Gras was a very noticeable holy shite bad, but yesterday was next-level godawful frick-this-goddamn-bullshite bad. ALL the side road shortcuts were backed up. I told my wife it might have something to do with the interstate construction, but I haven’t been on the interstate in a while.

2005. I lived off of O'Neal South of Florida. My drive to work was 7? miles straight down Florida. Pre-Katrina, it was 20 minutes, stoplights and all. Evacuees showed up, and it was 40 minutes. BR has always, and always will have fricked up traffic. Even ATL wasn't as bad. Austin might come close.

They had to close a lane on 10 westbound which has Baton Rouge as a parking lot once again.
I’m only here temporarily for my job for a week but I’m telling you New Orleans traffic is not this bad in comparison. There’s enough alternate routes and the interstate was built to equip more volume. Baton Rouge might be one of the most miserable places to live and I’m being serious. New Orleans is night and day better in almost every way.
:inb4 New Orleans is a shithole but it’s also a truly unique place with a lot to
Offer with 2 major league sports teams and hosts super bowls. A lot more charm. And yes I’m fuming on Essen Lane as I speak but we all know it’s true

It’s quite impressive that a city it’s size can consistently have near gridlocked traffic for miles and miles and miles in every direction on a daily basis.

1000%. My org was started as a remote first, so its just baked into the culture. We only just now got offices after 9 years of being in business, which stay mostly empty and are used primarily for meetups and or client meetings.
