In a perverse way, I think this somewhat explains why we seem to see an increase instances of sexual activity between "adults" (often teachers) and students. You have people who are adults in age, but who are closer to adolescents in emotional maturity. Thus, it's not as totally inconceivable for a 24 year old to be attracted to and have some sort of physical involvement with a 13 year old as it was in prior generations.
It use to be the emotional gap between a 21 and an 11 year old was VAST. They did not share the same interest, maturity level, or social norms. Not even close. Now you have 35 year olds playing with the same toys as a 7 year old, concerned about "Sunday scarries" and hating "adulting".

"Forever adolescents"? Eh, I'm pretty sure I would have been humiliated to be seen in Toys R Us when I was 7 years old. Forget about when I was an "adolescent."

Well people do buy up all the Pokémon shite and resell it for more.
But most adults are buying like building toys. So, models and legos. I don't have kids but buy Legos for my niece.

My 12-14 year old self felt absolutely no shame picking up a gold controller Goldeneye N64 bundle at Toys-R-Us back in the day. Not a fricking drop

Toys R Us was meant for like ages 4 and under.
It was an awesome store when I was 4. But I outgrew it by age 7, maybe age 8 at the oldest.
