Toyota moving to Plano is awesome but do they have to move every company headquarters to the same damn intersection? Toyota, Liberty Mutual, JP Morgan Chase, Boeing Global Services Division, FedEx.... Traffic is going to be even more insane than it already is. Not to mention, Nebraska Furniture Mart (which is the most amazing furniture store ever) is right down the road.
Add to that, JC Penny's corporate headquarters is across the street and Frito Lay is next door.

What's the average pay at this joint?

There's a lot for any state to like in landing Toyota's headquarters. The average salaries for the 4,000 jobs in Plano will be in the six figures, sources said, far more than manufacturing wages -- meaning that Toyota's Texas employees will have plenty of income to spread around.

Not far from my house, traffic is going to be a zoo at the DNT/SRT intersection.

US75 and DNT/121 are becoming YUGE Tech Corridors. I get offers from head hunters in the areas for around 80-85k.

I am a RF Engineer. So if you are brand new to the field you should expect 70-75k minimum in this area.

I use to work the Toyota finance people on the forklift side a good bit. They were furious their office was being moved. For years, they only had a small team in Dallas that no one paid attention too. Next thing everyone is moving to Plano.

I found out several people retired or left, mainly cause now they probably had to really work.

That's a mistake. The entire site might be 100 acres.

That isn't what he is saying.

He is saying that there are 100 acres of:

restaurants (11 of them)
convenience stores
gym and rock climbing
bank
pharmacies
private rooms for personal contemplation
gender neutral bathrooms
And a rain water recycling center.

McKinney has been needing that 75/SRT intersection to boom as they have Emerson there, Raytheon off 380 and some smaller stuff off Industrial but that is it. They haven't done a great job of developing the city IMO. If/when they reconfigure 121 going northeast from the 75/SRT interchange toward the airport and northward toward Melissa, that should add some additional commercial development.

I'm going to have to move out further!

I thought this was in Frisco...not Plano?

Technically, it's Plano. Built new corridor called Shops at Legacy West and it buts up right next to it.

But, it's right at the border of Frisco and The Colony. Luckily The Colony also had a ton of land to develop, so lot's more restaurants and bars popping up.

Lots of bigger companies (Google, Nike) have these "compounds". It looks like they never want you to leave work.

No thanks. I have my own family, other friendships, and my own outside, personal life.

Most American companies have left this conviction behind and that's why they are suffering.
