On a separate note I think the LX is a perfectly fine replacement for the LC in its current version. I just went through the LC/LX/4Runner/GX debate and landed on the GX. It was the best size for me and had all the off-road cred I needed in a vehicle with a nicer interior and a little more power than the 4Runner.
Same. The GX is the LC Prado in all the other countries. Perfectly capable and nearly as bulletproof, just a bit smaller. Still want a LC 200, just wasn’t worth the extra $30k.

I didn't realize that until after I bought it. It explains why it has the barn door instead f the 4Runner lift gate. The fact that it shares design with the LC line made it super easy to add MTS and Crawl. Now I just need to get it a little more clearance and it'll be good for what I need.

That sucks.
When I was a teenager, a neighbor across the street was selling his toy. A clean blue FJ62. My dad talked me out of it.
I could have had a piece of history for $4200.

I think the GX, 4Runner, and LC Prado are all on the same chassis.
And the GX is by far the ugliest one. That Lexus nose looks terrible grafted onto a truck that wasn’t designed to have angular styling. The darn thing also has an ancient infotainment screen and no CarPlay.

Owned an 04 Limited... GREAT SUV but this was the GWB years and when gas prices hit nearly $5/gallon I couldn't justify owning it.
Sucker averaged 9MPG city/11HWY

Agree. the newest body style sucks. I used to have a 2007 GX and it was a very good vehicle. Looked good as well.

The prices some people are willing to pay for vehicles these days just amazes me.

I owned an 04 Tundra. Got 13 mpg. Sold it when I went back to school. I have owned 4 different vehicles since I sold that truck, and I'm about to purchase my 5th. Looking back, I wish I would have just kept the truck. Would have saved more money in the long run, and I'd still be driving a reliable Tundra with 300,000 miles on it by now.

It's crazy
I also respect the hell out of Ford for putting the new Bronco's in the Mid 30's. Gonna give it a SERIOUS look in 2022 when I'm back in the market.

So will the Lexus equivalent still be in production?

Yes. Toyota expects Lexus will pick up the Toyota volume.

So why cant I just drive down thru Texas, cross the border, buy a Hilux, pay the fees, and drive it back ?
I see Mexicans every day headed south with no plates on the vehicles.

We have a 2018 4runner and my brother has a 2016 Land Cruiser. Not much difference in size, the LC was about two inches longer when we put them side by side.
The 4Runner looks just as much the part as the LC and I'm not paying double to get one.

My Wife has ‘14 & it’s the best vehicle we’ve owned! Spindle grill has grown on me...old one looks boring & bland now. I laugh at people who complain about infotainment systems, what a joke.

It's the width bruh. In a 4 runner, you're rubbing shoulders with a passenger.

Its my dream car, but I'm too poor.
Make them affordable and people will buy them.

4Runners have been wide enough since the 2003 redesign. The older ones were definitely cramped. Of course, they're still not as wide and roomy as the LC, but I have an 05 4Runner, I'm 6'4" and my wife is 6' and we don't really have a problem with cabin room in it.

Mine too.
I found an incredible deal on a Lexus LX a year or two ago, and was ready to buy it for the wife but she balked.
"I don't want a car with 120,000 miles on it!!!"
