I did one of these Saturday in TX. Very very difficult, especially considering I'm about 50 lbs overweight and my preparation for the event consisted of eating pizza and drinking beer.

That said, it was a lot of fun and excellent motivation to get in better shape.

Anyone here done one of these or signed up for an upcoming event?

I thought about doing one, then a buddy did one and said if you are in decent shape that it is really easy and that you spend half the time waiting around in lines

...so it sounded too lame for the price

I was one of the first flights, so there were never any lines, although I have heard the same thing from people who were on later flights.

I did one in Dallas last year with 3 other buddies...ours was 12 miles. Not that hard if you are in decent shape. You definitely want to do it with a group, otherwise, just like going to the bar, you would probably feel pretty lame and not have a ton of fun

I did my first one Saturday in Rockdale. I had a blast, did it alone because my group backed out. I plan on doing another one. And I didn't really wait at any of the obstacles.

Have done a Tough Mudder and found it fairly easy. It is better to register for an early start time so that you don't have to wait in lines.
Spartan Race is much tougher than TM. I am running the 8 mile Spartan in Austin next weekend and have already registered for the 4 miler in Mississippi and the 12 miler in Dallas in November.

I get sick of out of shape people posting about these races on facebook. They do one of these races per year and post about it for a few months to make themselves feel better about being a fat slob.

They are fun along with Spartan Race. Warrior dash is for pussy. I guess theres a new one called savage race.

Just don't be the people who talk nonstop about it on social media.
