Mississippi also does not force people to have insurance at all.

Also when you've had it that for a long time that's fine. Our system is set up in a certain way and this will be catastrophic to that court system.
Some court systems, like Jefferson, do both Criminal and Civil with the same judges. The entire system will be completely backlogged, including the criminal side.
This will do NOTHING for your insurance rates. This is simply emotional boogie man big bad lawyers. It will help you in no appreciable way but will cause lasting harm to Louisiana's court system.
The jury threshold should never be lower than the state minimum required car insurance.

No, I don't. Most of the other states don't have a threshold at all. Only 14 do.

Yes. But what I’m asking is what evidence is required to show what was paid by the insurer? Will an authenticated medical bill showing what BCBS paid suffice? Such evidence was previously barred by collateral source.

You are correct about no pay no play and registration.
MS drivers are required by law to carry a 25/50/25 Liability policy. Only about 65-70% of the state does. I rarely see a completely Uninsured motorist catch a citation.

Well that stinks. I don't want all of them to hurt. Just the 5-10 that seem to abuse the hell out of the system.
I really don't understand this part of law and it's strange to see how many have such different opinions on if this is good or bad for the average person.
Even my lawyer friends seem to argue about it a lot.
