Something woke me up about 20 minutes ago, but I’m in southdowns in BR and it seems like a pretty typical storm right now. Will it be getting worse as time goes on?

In St. Gabriel and the worst looks like it’s over.
Lots of lightning still, but the rain and wind died down.

Severe thunderstorm warning for Golden Meadow for 60 mph gusts possible.

Hell no already passed through. This was an overblown front coming through. Not much rain and a little lightening. Pussification of America is strong. Hurricane season for Louisiana was quiet so we now have to endure the dramatics of a thunderstorm.

Getting hammered in Abita Springs for the last hour or so.

Our power has been out off 1085 for a couple hours now. Damn Halloween motion sensing decorations are going off non stop too. Real annoying.

Just starting to pick up a bit in Abita.

Yep taking a beating on Mandeville lakefront... Power out & plenty strong wind gusts woke us up 20 mins ago. Looks like it was a strong red cell that just passed through more coming

Was heavy shite 5 minutes ago

Times were better when the weather man would say” might want to have an umbrella or raincoat on hand when the rain comes through in the morning “. Now these thunderstorms are “ marketed” for several days. Halloween, first front , sell some ads.

Not much in Thibodaux. Wind about 20mph for about 5 minutes. Didn’t even lose DirecTV signal. Schools delayed start time for this crap

Be thankful it wasn't worse for you and your neighbors, many are not as fortunate

Hopefully one of those tornadoes that touched down in Alexandria or Pineville will come close to you next time so you don't have to think the weather man was blowing the system out of proportion.
Posted on 11/1/18 at 5:13 am to Saltwatersoul04
As usual, system was over-hyped, overblown and over exaggerated. Delayed/cancelled classes for absolutely NO REASON. Tried to foment as much fear and stress as they could and they’re still doing it this morning.
Media has ZERO credibility on anything at this point.

Had tornado around 430 in Tallow Creek in Covington. Trees and fences down with many neighbors with damaged roofs, siding and windows. That front squall line was not overhyped here.
