What causes that purple circle around the radar on the velocity mode?

I'd imagine it is the limit of a particular radar pass. Always seems to be in the way though.

May want to update the title now that we're in it. I'm not sure what would be better though.

Nothing overly impressive rotation wise on most of the storms currently.

The one by El Dorado has some decent rotation. Keeping an eye on that one.

This one to the west of Dry Prong is one to watch as well. Currently warned, but hard to get a good read out of the closest radar station at the moment.

Aw hell. PDS watch at night. That doesn't sound good. Stay safe south Bama.

Pretty scary language used by SPC for this one:

The resulting parameter
space is one often associated with long-lasting, intense tornadoes
rated EF2 or greater.

A lot of action North of Alexandria and Shreveport. Glad I'm in between.

I'm quite surprised at the northern extent of the PDS Watch in Alabama. Didn't expect it to be that far north. Given the parameters over south Alabama, the severity of a lesser event last night, and the fact that this is happening at night, though, the Storm Prediction Center may just be acting out of an abundance of caution.

I'm sure they would rather have too big of a watch area than too small of one.

South of Eldorado a couplet is forming quickly. Looks nasty.

Jonesville might be an area of concern here shortly.

Cell moving north of BR could be trouble for Kentwood in a bit.

There is a little red/yellow cell NNW of Tyler, Texas. Is it developing or is it too close to the line behind it?

Passed pretty much over my brother's place. Nothing to report for him.

As far as NW La and South Arkansas, it feels like none of these are getting down.

Been confirmed by spotters, now on the northeast side of El Dorado. Don't know if it touched down through the city, if so that's a fairly populated area and it cut right through the heart of it. It IS on the ground as of now, next populated area in the path is 30~ miles out.

Just had some large hail here in West Mobile from the tornado warning that came through 45 minutes ago. Was intense and pretty scary hearing it pound the roof just before the actual area of rotation was about to pass through here. No reports of damage but a lot of reports of up to 2.00" hail
