God, my ex-wife used to go fricking ballistic when she'd worked up a lather and I'd just gut her by saying "yeah, you're right".

Eventually, it gets to the point you don't even want to do that. Why sacrifice your mental health and happiness because someone wants to be toxic for the sake of being toxic?
I get not everyone is like this but hell, I've been a lot happier as a divorcee than a married man. Life is too short to deal with that and as I got older, I just don't want to deal with it. I have better and more productive things to do.
