Is this “super day” terminology a new catch phrase for an on-site all day interview? Because it’s terrible.

I understand the rejection
In that whole wall of text what was the job selling time shares??? Was a black vinyl couch involved?

You didn't need the summary. You basically said the same shite in every paragraph.

I don't even know what a super day is.

super day is like a long interview day, in person. I don't care that I was rejected. I care that they made me feel like I was a great candidate for the job when I didn't even originally apply for it, only to me a $150 stipend, and then reject me once I made the financial and time commitment to go all the way to New York City.

If I was rejected after a Skype interview, I wouldn't care very much at all.

If you already were a slam dunk you wouldn’t have had to go there.

Also, was this an internal HR person or outside recruiter?

You can just say “New York”

But, what I'm left wondering after is all is that, if you are only going to offer a $150 travel stipend, why not just say that if you can't make it to New York City in person, that Skype or Zoom interviews would also be acceptable?

This is for a teaching job, not a management consultant.

Their recruitment budgets are non-existent because they can typically find talent within a short distance...where $150 covers travel costs (train ticket, tolls to drive in, etc.)

I've no idea what the frick a Super Day is, but I will tell you that my rule of thumb is that if you have to pay for anything in a job interview process then it is a scam.

Sounds like a cult, and not the sex cult kind, the Scientology kind.

I agree, but I feel like in cases where $150 isn't enough, if that's all they offer, then they should offer a Skype/Zoom interview.

So they can hire you sight unseen for a role that requires constant in person interaction with people?

I've done plenty of full day interviews and I've never heard this dumbass term

It's so lame sounding that it actually makes me angry

It seems that you’ve been given a few lessons in the real world:
1. They weren’t that into you.
2. They found out how desperate you were.
3. Never go on an interview without them picking up the tab.

Never travel for an interview the company wanting to interview you doesn't pay for.
