If you have to do Dave Ramsey then you are a fool who can’t do basic budgeting or exercise impulse control.

5 cents.

You'd also get the rewards on the card and probably have more free cash flow.
But definitely not time fricking value of money
How's your winter break going?

Credit cards give you free money for using their cards
No idea why you wouldnt use cards for everything

If you free all of that cash flow up on a couple thousand dollars a month and invest it you're talking several 10s of thousands of dollars by retirement, but frick it.

Just left the office, won't be back until the third, I'll provide an update if you want me to.

I pay cash or use my debit card for everything because I have the means to do so. If that makes me trashy and uneducated, so be it.

OP your post is stupid. You should consider having your mom abort you.

First, it doesn't matter how much money you make, if you aren't an idiot you care about your finances. Second, just about everyone spends a couple of thousand dollars a month after gas, groceries, bills, etc.

You really think the time value of money is why people use credit cards? How much you expecting the value of a dollar to fluctuate between statements?
If you're paying it off as you go, paying with a credit card unequivocally saves you money and has added protections. You can laugh at the rates, but paying $5k cash today instead of $5k in a month with a credit card costs you about $8 in interest over that month.

Nah. If I've learned anything from the OT, it's that bad decisions should be a death sentence.

Doesn’t make you trashy but you’re missing out on cashback/rewards/miles that adds up. Also, if your credit card is compromised you don’t have anything to worry about. Same can’t be said about your debit card.
Posted on 12/21/18 at 2:53 pm to Lacour
Can you be more specific? I just had to go pick up 2 gift cards, I used my debt card because I didn't want to use my cash on this particular purchase. Am I trashy?

quote:Misunderstood what you meant there, you meant save on a couple thousand of monthly purchases, not save a couple thousand, my bad.
Second, just about everyone spends a couple of thousand dollars a month after gas, groceries, bills, etc.
Ok, so 0.014% on $2,000 of monthly purchases comes out to about $0.29, rounding up. So yearly we're saving....
about $3.50

Most people don’t understand what a credit card can do for you. I have over $1k of annual fees. What’s Dave Ramsey say about that?
