When I attended Hahnville in the mid 1960's this never would have happened. There was no Spanish spoken, quite a bit of French and English. Principal did ban the book "catcher in the Rye" one momentous day. One year segregation of the sexs was implemented with girls in the front yard, boys in the back yard during recess. Sex education was handled during PE class with gnarly football coach saying DON'T. Chemistry lab teacher set ceiling on fire by using too large a chunk of sodium dropped in water to illustrate reactivity. Clothing in football locker room got washed once a week. Research papers document required both Worldbook and Britannica footnotes. The band average weight per person was greater than the football team. On graduation day several classmates left for Viet nam and returned in a casket. Legal age for drinking was 5 foot 2 inches. Could fit 3 people in the car trunk when going to the drive in movie
