Theres a lot of signs pointing to a no on the Fish Mox. Not about to dose myself willy nilly with some antibiotics I dont even know would work. Insurance takes money out of every single one of my checks and I plan on using it. Plus my prescription plan is A1 when it comes to non narcotics

I also took it during the time that I couldn't be seen. Its not like I'm gulping the pink drink. I also understand your argument. The OP did say he couldn't be seen. It was a simple suggestion and others have attested to it working or thinking it was a solid suggestion.

Don't get your panties in a bunch, you're usually a pretty chill poster. lordy.

Yeah don't listen to that idiot.

I mean...he is suggesting that you take antibiotics made for fish. What a fricking moron That should show you the level of stupidity we are talking about here.

In the OP's case, he is stating he already has some pretty gnarly swelling. Amoxicillin alone normally isn't going to do much once an infection in the mouth gets to the point of moderate/severe swelling. Augmentin would be my ABX of choice along with actual treatment, whether that be root canal, extraction, incision and drainage, etc. The source of the infection needs to be treated. ABX can calm it down, but won't get rid of the source, which is an infected canal.

Couldnt be seen by a specific dentist I've been using for the past 2 years so I've grown accustomed to him.

Now if I cant get to a dentist and my PCP wont prescribe anything for it (understandbly) then I wouldnt be above drinking some fish meds

I'm just calling out stupidity that is all.

He is giving HORRIBLE advice. I'm certainly not a doctor or dentist but sure both would say to stay away from fish antibiotics.

One of the main reasons pharmacists should be able to prescribe non narcotic drugs like other countries do.

Aleve is one of the best anti-inflammatory drugs. Prescription strength my dentist gave me was almost equal to two of those.

Thanks for the comment but I’m not really an idiot. I’ve got good insurance and use it but I also like to plan for any emergencies. Fish Mox brand capsules are made by Sandoz laboratories. They are the same folks that sell amoxicillin in Walgreens. In an emergency, I’m willing to take that bet.

Thought you were referring to me. If not, I apologize.

Edit. Okay I see it was directed to someone else. I'm sorry for my comment and I'll remove it. I got lost in those replies.

Look up oil pulling, it should ease the infection after a day or so. Also bite down on whole cloves in the meantime

Tooth Pain is definitely a level of Hell

Seems like meth heads are able to deal with it and you don't ever hear of them complaining of tooth pain, and we all know they have teeth problems. Maybe meth is the key?

Conscious sedation. Best $ I every spent. Don’t remember getting there, don’t remember the procedure, don’t remember leaving. A few hours later went to walmart with my husband and don’t remember that either. I picked out some stuff at walmart and the next day I saw it in a bag and thought WTF??? Best $ I every spent.

What did they do and how much did it cost?

19 is your main tooth for chewing. If you lose that tooth, especially if you dont have wisdom teeth, you will definitely be in a bind on that side of your mouth when it comes to chewing.

I found out the hard way that every dentist in Birmingham has Friday off except one. I wish they had given us this information on career day......
