I had really bad pain a few years back and I used Tylenol extra strength double the dose and ice packs on the cheek to help tame it some...it's fricking brutal.

DO NOT USE ANY HEAT COMPRESS's! Heat is a vasodilator which just spreads the infection. There is a difference between an emergency and neglect. It sounds like he does not have a dentist of record. If he does then that DDS needs to take care of him or he is open for neglect suit. That does not mean "well I saw old doctor Joe 15 years ago and think that means he is a patient of record! Treatment options after a radiograph may include just antibiotics and 800 mg motrin or that plus incise and drain with a sutured strip of rubber damn or something to keep the incison open to continue to allow drainage. Then have him back in a day or two to extract the molar. The reason to have the antibiotic load first is to prevent bacterial endocarditis.

I've had a weekend tooth ache that led to a root canal so I empathize. Remember the movie Castaway? If it gets that bad before Tuesday think about it.

Just had 4 teeth pulled Monday... had a abscess for bout a week ... amoxicillin, ibuprofen, norcos... access will eventually burst... if you can't get norcos Tylenol and ibuprofen work well... most important thing is the amoxicillin

Yeah the dentist kind of glared at me and gave me a stern warning about heat compress on an infection of any kind. I said previously I had been seeing a dentist the last 2 years but his office was closed for a long weekend. Found another one for the emergency route but I'll likely have my dentist do the procedure as I have to take this 10 day antibiotic script before moving forward.

The tooth itself is a complete loss. Looking into early age dentures or implants in the future (this will be the 3rd tooth removed that wasnt a wisdom tooth). If I have a lesson for anyone its take care of your teeth from a very early age. My party days and not giving a shite from my teens to my mid 20s really did a number on the chompers

If you have any type of “socket” on broken teeth, fill the hole with a small piece of fresh garlic. It’s one of THE best natural antibiotics. Does wonders with teeth/gumb issues. ...all praise to Allicin!

You have got to quit dipping unless you want more tooth loss or , God forbid, them removal of all or most of your jaw due to squamous cell carcinoma. I have diagnosed 5 patients over the past 20 years with mouth and tongue cancer. Referred them to oral surgeon for biopsy. All were dead within 2-3 years. Find a way to stop dipping no matter what.

I've been dip free for over 2 years now. Once I lost the first tooth I kicked myself into shape and started paying attention to my teeth.
