I'm an oral surgeon. Over 20 years here is my experience.
Patients who regularly see the dentist and follow their recommendations dont get to the point where they generally need to have many extractions. Occasionally a tooth fractures or has been worked on multiple times and isn't fixable. But for the most part, people who go to the dentist and follow their guidance keep most of their teeth for most of their life.
The people who dont get alots of teeth pulled.

Just got back from day 2. The weather has been pretty crappy for fans. Cold, wet, windy. I’m not sure if that translates on TV. But it’s been miserable.

Had been with USAA for 30 years.
Lightning struck our house in the fall of 2024 while we were out of town. House caught on fire and burned to the ground.
Fought with USAA for 16 months before they finally decided the house was a total loss. Am still fighting with them over the contents portion of the claim. It has been a nightmare. I will be switching once we are done with this claim.

I make well north of a million a year and I write a check each year for 10% of what my AGI is to our church. I also fund a dental mission trip each year to Jamaica to do work for a week each year.
I have been richly blessed in my life and consider it a blessing to be able to be generous with my money.
I know quite a few people in my profession who are very successful and I would wager that most are just as generous as I am.

A lot of the sales reps in my industry have been trying to push a lot of the radiographic AI software. It isn't ready. Not even close. At least in the OMFS sphere.

True to an extent. But that area where they are going to build the stadium is pretty nice. Nascar track, MLS stadium, big shopping center, etc.
As someone who has lived on both sides of the state line over the last 30 years. I don't get the angst. It isn't like they moved to Nashville. It's literally 30 minutes west. It's still in the KC Metro. No different than when the Cowboys moved from Irving to Arlington.

I've done 3 cases so far this morning.
Most are sedated. Usually with a benzodiazepine/propofol/etc
Everyone is different when it comes to post op pain. Some people are eating pizza that day, some people are pussies and cry for a week.
I would plan to do it on a Thursday or Friday so you have the weekend to recover.

Oral Surgeon. I work 3 days a week. I only do the procedures I want to do. I don’t deal with hospitals or have call. 100% private practice bliss.
