If it is that canned chicken that can seem like canned tuna, Pagan bylaw 287.641, authorized for those practicing under the Gargoyle addendum, allows it.*

Um most do. It’s what you’re supposed to do. Those are outwardly gestures to help others. The no meat is a simple inner self sacrifice to remind you of Jesus’ sacrifice. This isn’t a hard concept. You can multitask. I don’t know why non Catholics get so butthurt during lent. Especially on a Louisiana website.

Lived in LA entire life and Catholic. Never head such discussion during Lent. Have heard many about dietary restrictions on certain days of the week during a given period of the year

I usually stick to the no meat thing pretty well. Wendy's makes a decent fish sandwich.

What annoys the shite out of me is the guy in my office who is DEVOUT Catholic. He will walk into my office and inspect things just to be sure I'm not eating meat. I can't cuss him out because he's had a rough life, but damn that annoys the hell out of me.

Perhaps a few noogies would get him back on track.

I was raised Catholic, but I never understood the 'not eating meat on Friday during Lent' thing. Are fish and seafood not really 'meat?' It really confused me as a child. My mom and dad would say something like, if you eat meat on Friday, it's a sin. As I got older, I realized that there are a lot worse things I can do to sin than eat meat on Friday. If I'm going to hell for eating meat, then maybe religion isn't for me. After I made my confirmation, which in the eyes of the Catholic Church, you are an adult, I made the adult decision to never go back to church.

You know just as well as I do that a lot of people aren't joking when they say something like that. Don't be naive.

Okay man That's obvious satire.

Anyone saying that seriously is a chode who should be ignored.

Ive gone to Mass already. You should go since you are interested in the traditions of lLeny. You don’t have to be Catholic to receive ashes.

No. That isn’t what Lent is about.

Yep. Some say mother theresa is burning in hell as we speak because of an ill fated burger one Friday afternoon.

Everybody loves Catholicism during Mardi Gras and hates it once Ash Wednesday rolls around.

Any rule, act, ritual or tradition that is in addition to the Word is an abomination of the Word. As if Jesus wasn't an adequate sacrifice for our sins.

The Catholic Church has the market cornered on this issue.
