No way TB will try and push through just the original recipe which I assume will end up in the Superdome. It's not hard for them to see what is happening in the local market to determine how they can compete.

Yeah have a friend who's family is in that business and was surprised to find this out as well. Miller brews Sam Adams, Yuengling now, Blue Moon..just a few I could get off the top of my head.

I'll never understand how liking different beers is a bad thing and being proud of drinking one beer is a thing. It's like eating only McDonalds and being proud of it.

Used to love Dixie longnecks. Voodoo was the hoodoo! I didn't like any light. Crimson Voodoo has potential.

But Wisconsin Dixie was Wisconsin and not Dixie. Drank a few, hoping the name would live, but knowing the beer had already died.

Beer needs consistency, recipe, water, and an unique flavor.

Lack of quality consistency almost killed Dixie in the 70s. Remember the green beer days and this was a celebration of food poisoning not St. Patrick! No flavor consistency in Wisconsin killed it.

Returning to an early 20th recipe is great, and if they have the actual 1907 fantastic.

Returning to New Orleans will address the water.

But they need to get it out of stainless and back into cypress! The unique New Orleans Dixie Beer flavor.

Fortunately Tom and Gayle have the resources and apparently the desire to really bring back a local icon!

Seems to me, they missed an opportunity after Katrina to sort of reestablish themselves as an old established brand in a craft beer mold, centered around their old facility, with a dining/brewpub/beer garden component. Sort of like Anchor. Hard to see the Bensons pulling off anything like that, with a planned facility in da East.

Which is the exact reason the owner of NOLA started the brewery, he found out Dixie was brewed else where.

If Dixie became the Lone Star/Lone star lite of Louisiana, I wouldn't hate it. As much as I love craft beers, shitty light cheap lagers will always have their place.
