Ahh, so Dixie started back when Tom was just a young man.

I like it too. As a matter of fact, it's another way I know that Shreveport/Bossier city is really Lower Arkansas and not Louisiana. Was never able to get Dixie beer up here (even prior to Katrina), but a friend of mine was able to get it in Colorado Springs of all places in 2012.

They actually brewed a White Chocolate Dixie at one time. I never had the guts to try that one. I first tasted regular Dixie as a kid in the 70's when my dad gave me a sip at a KC picnic. It's nostalgic for me for sure but I always loved an ice cold Dixie beer on hot summer day.

If they can sell it here cheaply and undercut the microbrews like urban south and nola then I'm in favor. Louisiana needs a cheap beer option like Texas (lone star)

The NOLA Brewery bubble continues to grow

it's gone from what, 1 to 7 within like 2 and a half years?

Coincides nicely with the real estate bubble, the restaurant bubble, the boutique hotel bubble...

That would, quite honestly, be one of the greatest stadium sponsorships ever. Mitch and the SJWs would have a conniption.

New Orleans EAST!

There's already a small brewery (Royal Brewery) right off Downman & Morrison in one of those old warehouses by the canal. There's probably room for another one around there and it's not the worst location ever. Especially if Tipitina's goes through with the lakefront development at the old Bally's site.

People aren't going to stop drinking Urban South and NOLA for a $3 lager

Most of them are micro breweries to be fair, and it's not like NOLA is a minescule mining town, bunch of craft drinkers and plenty of beer snobs.

Honestly couldn't tell you. I've never been. I think they only have one or two brews.

I'm thinking about trying it out on Saturday when they have Slow & Leaux BBQ out there.

I'm good friends with Ray, the owner of Royal. He currently only has two options at the moment and I liked both, and I don't typically like IPA's.

It's only been brewed for 35 years. We don't know if it will work.

Nah, Dixie still sells all over Louisiana right now. It's not like it's going to be only sold in New Orleans.
