Interesting, as a bunch of new breweries popped up in NOLA the past couple of months.

As part of the agreement, a brewery will be built in Orleans Parish within the next two years, possibly in New Orleans East.

He's going to regret ever acquiring Dixie Beer.
The environment in New Orleans is no longer conducive to a beer named "Dixie." He bought the label for the local name recognition, which will backfire. It's only a matter of time.

I can't drink more than one or two regular Dixies else a headache ensues.

But you're right, they do OK at 40 Arpent.
It was a Kaare Johnson stab.

Rumor has it Tom & Gayle are considering buying a nostalgic restaurant chain as well and basing it out of NOLA:

Not a huge fan of the Dixie flavor, but I can
and I have been known to drink a few Dixie's (once I get past the first one).
Good to hear there is a dream to bring back the brewery.
As someone else said, I'd like to see Jax back also.

Parleaux is my favorite of the newbies, Courtyard and Wayward are still top for now though.

Regular Dixie is great with fried foods or when you're just coming in from the heat outside.
I like it with crawfish

It's a Lager. Most people as of lately forget about lagers due to the big craft craze. A lager on a hot day is still a good beer. Every beer has its place.

they missed an opportunity after Katrina to sort of reestablish themselves as an old established brand in a craft beer mold
Never have I craved a (very average) beer more than I did a Dixie in the aftermath of Katrina. I went on a hunt for it in Baton Rouge that fall.
It's best served with crawfish.
