There will always be some homeless people. But lately it’s ridiculous. Nola and Houston have too many. Maybe it’s the heroin addicts, I’m not sure. Many could get off the streets if they wanted. The government already has programs for welfare, disability, housing, food, medical, and free phones.

i was warned by folks who lived here, but they forgot to mention the winds...they are sme of the worst because its so constant.. the state itself is beautiful, the people are of a different breed

I'm not real familiar with Skagit County. We don't have high winds very often in the south sound. I agree on the people. Almost all of our friends are transplants because the natives aren't very sociable. Luckily there are a lot of transplants.

One of the richest cities in America. Also one of the poorest cities in America.

This is not the San Fran of the flower child generation. This is San Fran at it's ugliest, embracing all the worst facets of capitalism. "I've got mine, frick you." That's San Francisco today

Hilarious, I once had a Yemeni taxi driver in SF, and he was complaining about all the vagrants in the city. He said they come from all over to shite here and stink up the place

It’s (San Francisco) still a nice city (nicer than Baton Rouge)
Faint praise.

Parts of Calcutta are nicer than Baton Rouge.

People from the South who have never lived outside of the South don’t usually realize that there doesn’t have to be a bad part of town in a community.

Almost every Southern city of any size has a bad part of town. Resorts are excluded, there’s no hood in Destin or Kiawah.

Well what a novel idea.

So, your telling me by not being hard on criminals allows more criminal activity to occur?

Lawana and her friends can camp out in the valley and pick crops with the Mexicans.

Little San Fran aka Austin seems to be getting just as bad. Downtown is overrun with bums. Same liberal policies allowing it to occur. Was down there this weekend with my family and a bum popped a squat right as my family and I were walking down the sidewalk.

Home? Obviously dysfunctional street people can't care for a home, they can't manage themselves. The goal should be to find them a cot and a place to dump.

Romanticizing this dysfunction is as stupid as thinking third world economic asylum seekers are noble and can assimilate into a functional society.

It’s unbelievable that it took them this long to even want to stand up to the problem.

because anyone who dares to even talk negatively about it are ostracized, ridiculed, targeted for attack and retribution for straying from the doctrine of liberal ideals of utopia and on top of all that it can cost you your job and if you are a public figure, maybe even your career.

the left is a true terrorist organization you arent allowed to criticize or disagree with and you certainly arent allowed to have sound rational opinions based on true facts observed in the "real" world

I have never seen a homeless person pissing or crapping in public in all the years I’ve lived in Austin. We do have a major homeless problem, but I don’t think we have it as bad as cities like SF or Portland. In spite of the homeless, Austin’s downtown is one of the cleanest of any major US City I’ve ever visited and I’ve never felt unsafe going down there.
