This is the exact very reason I spend almost all of my free time raising funds for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Families should not have to go through this type of ordeal. It happens way too much especially in South Louisiana for some reason. God Bless

He was just an awesome young man.
It sounds like his dad is pretty great as well.

One of my groomsmen accidentally backed over his 2-year old yesterday and killed him in the driveway. I can't imagine going through losing a child. I feel for you all.
Horrific in every way.

Never caught your original post, which was touching and so true.
I don't take anybody or anything for granted having only 1 sibling left in my immediate family.

You're not alone, brother.
My nephew would be 17 this year. He passed away when he was 4. My brother grieves every year around his birthday and the day he passed. Being a pallbearer on such a small casket was hard enough as an uncle, I still cannot imagine the pain of it being your own child.

Well, this thread has been brutal. Just tears and tears. Stay strong.

Ted, I don't know how you do it, buddy. My great niece was diagnosed with low grade glioma when she was 18 months. Traveling to Cincinnati Children's and seeing what goes on there changed my life.
My heart goes out to you and the others who have shared heartbreaking stories.

Hate to hear that. I don’t know how much of my mental capacity I would lose if I ever lost one of mine. My 8 year old got his thumb slammed in a camper door yesterday pretty hard and when he was crying and screaming yelling for me to do something, I felt completely helpless and it hurt my heart that he was in so much pain knowing the only thing we could do is X-ray it (negative). And that is nothing, absolutely nothing compared to what you have to go through.
Really sorry to hear that and you’re a much stronger man than I am having to go through such horror.
Anyone who’s lost a child.

No problem. While people can be dicks here, when push comes to shove people are here for you and are actually wonderfully kind people
Absolutely. Lots of great people here and we do have each other’s backs. Thank you man

Sincerest condolences.
Our oldest passed 21 years ago at age 16. Eventually, the grief doesn’t hit as hard or as often, but the anniversary days of birth, death, and day of initial health issue bring pause and reflection. Other days, out of the blue, you wonder how it all came to be.
Prayers for grace, strength, and peace.

Yeah, I have no idea what to say in this situation. I feel like nothing can help. I know he's a wreck, and he has a second one just weeks away. I just hope he can stay strong and find a way to forgive himself.

So sorry, Ted.
My daughter is 11 and I can't imagine what that loss would be like.
