I ended up getting the Sega Master System and later a Genesis but played the NES at EVERYONE else's house and would trade systems for months at a time.
Eventually got a NES classic loaded with roms and still play these gems from time to time

My brother and I are famous Nintendobros
We beat Double Dragon II, took pics with a disposable camera, developed the pics, mailed them off to Nintendo Power, and had our names published in the next issue

Hours / days on River City Ransom. In two player mode you could beat up your partner “on accident.” Lots of good debate if I meant to throw that bat or tire…

There was a Friday the 13th game I can still vividly remember the music. I don’t think I ever made any legitimate progress in it.

10-4. Sounds good. I’m definitely not interested in anything for hundreds of dollars, especially when my NES works just fine and is in pristine condition. But I’d definitely take a box from you though since I (very stupidly) threw mine away like an idiot.

Zelda, Metroid and Bionic Commando were the best ones I remember playing. I also remember Blaster Master and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and how difficult those games were to finish.
