Exactly the same words I heard about Waveland in 2005.

Looked like a nuclear bomb was dropped on Waveland. Not a single structure standing from the beach to the rr tracks. Mexico Beach looks very similar

Meh, I saw Lakeview and the 40 ft high, 150 ft wide, mile long pile of debris on the neutral ground between Pontchartrain Blvd and West End Blvd. I saw the Lower Ninth Ward and St Bernard Parish. Take what you saw and multiply it by 20-30 and recall that there was standing water in New Orleans for weeks.

That’s weird. Maybe it’s cause I took them on my phone, uploaded them to tinypic.com on my phone, then posted them here on my phone as well.

We get it, you lived through Katrina. The area of devestation east and north of PC is unreal and we have a long way to recovery.

Jesus christ.. that picture of the trees is scary. Sometimes I start to think too hard about how merciless nature is and it freaks me out. These types of storms are happening more and more frequently. I think in 100 years the coasts will be deserted and everybody will live a couple states inland.

Then everybody gets wiped out by a F92 tornado

The reality we live is crazy.

I've worked in Cat insurance adjusting for a long time and have just about seen it all

Having said that, nothing wrenches your gut more than to see an entire city burnt plum to the ground like a wildfire. To stand at the entrance of a 300-400 home subdivision and see nothing but brick chimneys standing as far as the eye can see will make a grown man cry.

Nature is a beast, all people suffer it's just a little different in each scenario

Yup the Miss gulf coast made the majority of Louisiana destruction look like childs play.

You see those houses and in the pictures? Those didn't exist in MS, there was literally only slabs left. I thought we had it bad in LA but I went with a neighbor to check his other house in MS and holy shite.

I talked to a Georgia fan who drive in from Jacksonville for the LSU game and he said that for 130 miles along I-10 every tree was snapped in half. Keep in mind that I-10 is about 60-90 miles inland along that stretch.

He showed me a video of about a mile long stretch and it marched his description of the other 129 miles.

I also know people in Mexico Beach had it just as bad. This idea that every storm has to be diminished because many on this board experienced Katrina is ridiculous.

Nobody was making that point, twat.

Well it did turn into a dick shaking contest rather quickly with everyone trying to one-up the other.

Coulda just focused on the destruction at hand instead of comparing it to other disasters.
