I had to go to Tallahassee for work last week, and the damage I saw between Marianna and Quincy was unlike anything I've ever seen on such a scale. Miles and miles and miles of snapped and uprooted forest. Kind of hard to wrap my mind around such a large, powerful storm. Only thing that I've seen firsthand that kind of compares was the damage from the Tuscaloosa tornado. It looked like this for at least 60 miles:

The destruction in the panhandle is among the worst I've seen.
I was seven when Camille wiped Pass Christian & Miss coast off the map. Most of my mom's family lived there & my family went with supplies. What I saw terrified me.the absolute destruction, people walking in a daze. I still have those images in my mind.
Reminded me too of Ms. coast after Katrina. Same type of destruction.Every structure just wiped away, only unidentifiable debris.
And NOLA after Katrina was just unfathomable.
You go thru a few of these or volunteer to go help rescue/recover & the images are so horrific they never leave your memory.
To me, that is the hardest part to deal with.
Thank you for your efforts & work there. Stay safe.
And if you see somebody who looks like they need a hug, hug them.

I also shot some video but I have no idea how or where I could upload it to share here.
free billion dollar idea for the OT: start a website that lets people upload video so anyone can stream it. I'll even give a few names you can use. YouTV, UsTube, Vibeo, Streamuble, Instavid, FaceTube, LivePeak
I'm too busy being an OT baller to do this myself.

Both pale in comparison to Indonesia after the tsunami years ago.
Any other disaster dick measuring we're leaving out?
I would think the Japanese Tsunami would be up there.
