I wasn’t sure if this was a troll thread, Since these pics don’t do the damage justice as OP had said. I specifically asked him if he was being sarcastic bc we get a lot of “we will rebuild” memes after storms and these pics don’t look bad compared to what we’re all familiar with—Katrina.

Like i said. These pictures don’t do what I saw today Justice. I took some video that gives a better impression of what it’s like down there around Mexico Beach. Suffice to say, there’s nothing left. The whole place has been wiped out. What the wind didn’t take out, the storm surge obliterated. I didn’t travel north of there today but I will tomorrow. Going to try and go further east to Port St. Joe if it’s passable and I can get access through the check points.

Sideways on laptop.
Sideways on android phone

ETA: Yes. seeing a large scale disaster is surreal to say the least.
Going into Tuscaloosa at the point of the tornado in 2011 was unbelievable. A big thing I recall was seeing virtually nothing higher than about 10 feet or so left, trees or buildings.

as many times as I have seen it, I am still always just taken back by the devastation by natural disasters...people's whole lives just wiped away before their very eyes.

Don’t know what to tell you. It’s displaying fine on my iPhone.

That’s pretty much what it’s like down here. Only difference is that instead of the swath of destruction being about a mile or so wide, it’s like 50 or 60 (I’m guessing) mile wide.

After Hugo hit north of Charleston all of the pine trees between Charleston and Myrtle Beach were snapped like matchsticks just like the ones in your pictures

And to this day you can see the impacts of that storm. Every tree between Georgetown and myrtle beach that wasn’t big enough to snap is at about a 45 degree angle.

No need to try and brag about which hurricane had the bigger dick.

But I went through Katrina and I want to make sure everybody knows that #nolastrong. I can still probably get attention for mentioning it.

Also recall Biloxi area after Katrina. Yes, it was terrible and widespread, too.

Access through MB is restricted. But if you can get through you can get to St Joe. St Joe is getting back on their feet. Cleanup is well underway, power is mostly restored, and a few stores are open for shortened hours.you may have to detour through MB on 15th to 386.
