I actually don’t think the Mall of LA is that bad. Or Lakeside for that matter.
Not everyone likes to shop online. Both malls stay pretty busy and have popular stores with very few empty ones. I haven’t been yet but the new Dicks is supposed to be awesome.

I may be in the minority but I think the mall has seen an uptick in foot traffic since they opened the new Dick’s. Seems like the first positive thing in awhile.

The problem with mall is they are a waste of space and time. The better model is Towne Centre or Siegen, where you park just outside of the store you want to visit. Not a mile away wand you have to walk past a lot of places you have zero interest in.
Shopping and hiking are not compatible.

The Mall was a social place to gather with friends in my day 70s/80s. What is your age roughly?

I actually miss strolling through the stores... it just isn't worth it anymore.
Amazon filled a need for those desiring to shop a wide variety of products at once without rambunctious revelers being annoying.
