It does seem Gen Z generally consumes way less alcohol. This seems to be a trend

One of the few things that makes me proud of the younger generation is they seem to not be big drinkers.

Most of the kids in our orbit (Older HS age) seem to be very chill about drinking, like they lack whatever that rage element was that made us go insane back then. But I’m not naive either, that’s just our small perception.

I cringe when I think of my college days drinking
I intentionally drove home with my driver side tires on the center line hitting the BUMP, BUMP, BUMPS to keep awake. My mom's prayers had to have had something to do with me never wreaking a car or getting a DWI. Once I quit drinking, I always got asked to playoff ballgames and other events where my friends wanted to get wasted. I'd have to heard them around like cattle afterwards.

Absolutely shite liquor. I didn’t become an alcoholic until I grew up, aged out of that crap, and discovered the smooth nectar of the gods.

Do you teach them to play quarters?

I taught them to shotgun.

And I then taught the advanced among them to shotgun two at once.

Watching a grown man shotgun a peach seltzer was ratger disheartening.

It's a sad time.
I know you're being a silly goose, but it's one of the best things about gen z.

Alcoholism doesn't run in my family, it gallops.

I've done irreparable harm to my body from my younger days of drinking, I just don't know it yet. It certainly doesn't help that I still drink it, albeit alot less than I did back then.

I hope and pray my two boys' generation have the same outlook on alcohol as gen z does. It's quite amazing the human body can endure what I put mine through in my 20s and early 30s. I believe in 10 years alcohol will be viewed in the same lens as cigarettes were when I was first going into college in 2004 and they were outright banning it on campuses, cities, etc. : The studies are becoming abundantly clear that no amount of it is physiologically, "good" for you in any way whatsoever; the studies that showed, "2 glasses a day are good for you" have pretty much turned out to be complete, unadulterated, unfettered bullshite - and that comes from someone who drinks it 5 to 7 nights a week.

And I lift my glass to the awful truth
Which you can't reveal to the ears of youth
Except to say it isn't worth a dime

But, we all choose our path. Coming off a 4-day bender in Key West, I’m lost.
