This is it for me.

I've enjoyed spending a lot of quality time with my kids, but it's not my primary mission to be the caretaker, teacher, and entertainer for my kids. I need to work. Have a purpose that pulls in resources for the family. Seek out personal ambitions that are achieved through hard work, effort, and perseverance.

I'm not getting any of that. I envy those of you still working with a purpose. I'm in a school system that has completely given up on the school year. None of the work is required. The students have been told they're moving on to the next grade even if they don't do anything. I front loaded all of the lessons and assignments at the start of this because working hard up front was always my strategy to achieve more out of my job and out of my hobbies. But I wish I hadn't. I have literally nothing to do but click "post" on Sunday and then have a 15 minute Google Meet with each of my classes once a week and maybe 30% of the class shows up.

So my wife goes and works her job which still matters and I end up hanging out with the kids. I do schedule about 2-3 hours a day to practice guitar or make a YouTube video or whatever, but even that feels worthless when there are no gigs to play.

Was this the vent thread? I just made it a personal vent thread....

Know how I know this one is a liar?

This. Although fair warning, this same dismisal doesn't work for all situations. "Nobody made you become a nurse, quit bitching" or "Nobody told you to keep being a bartender/waiter into your 30s, quit bitching" seem to not be as well received.

Been having a great time playing sports with my 10yr old son.

I do feel for the OP having a toddler looking for constant entertainment. Can’t just tell him to “go play outside”.

I go for a 4-5 mile walk every day and listen to audiobooks. Its beautiful outside and I'll probably never get this kind of time in my life to enjoy this fully it ever again.

Why is your toddler up till 9? Get that kid on a better schedule. My toddler goes to bed at 6:30. Allows us to have some free time.

Yeah, mine is 6 am to 7 am, with an almost 2 hour nap at 12.

IF having a toddler driving you nuts is so bad, WHY DID YOU HAVE A KID???

I have zero sympathy for people who complain about how hard it is to be a parent. You brought this on yourself. Deal with it.

Look at this breeder complaining about his rugrats

My wife and I go to Disney world like 2-3 times a year, never have to worry about a babysitter when we want to go see the new marvel movie, and I can vibe and play Nintendo switch in the man cave whenever I want

I love these sanctimonious posts.

These last 8 weeks have been a little different than "normal" parenting, would you agree?

I'm happy you've decided to be child free. We have enough low-IQ people in the world procreating. No need to have more.
