Many restaurants will not reopen after shuttering for a month

I’ve seen only one neighborhood spot crowded for takeout and pretty much 9/10 places crush it, even during week nights. Going to be a lot of people out of business for this shite

Are they allowing to-go booze in LA right now?
If I was back there I'd consider going to Olive or Twist and asking for a pitcher of Old Fashioned.
Most are.
I'm trying to pick a small, family owned place to go pick up lunch from for me and my kid. There's one near us that flooded and they just finally reopened about 3 months ago.

Walk ons and Mike Andersons had some pretty good family deals. My wife picked up Walk ons last night and said it was pretty slow, around 6:30p, which on most nights it would have been packed.

We've eaten out for lunch and dinner almost the entire last week. I'm supporting local businesses but I'm going to gain 20 lbs and have diabetes and be susceptible to the corona.
FML.

I'm bummed at what I am seeing. Business seems way down at quick places like Jersey Mike's or poke/sushi that I would think are still doing well. I doubt the sit-down places pushing curbside are doing much of anything. We're going to be left with fast food and Chipotle.

I picked up $90.00 worth of brisket, chicken, beans and potato salad from my neighborhood barbecue place yesterday. Froze half of the brisket and chicken and one quart of beans. The lady at the drive thru said they'd had steady business for lunch and dinner.
Signing the credit card slip seemed like the most dangerous part of it. I didn't use the plastic flatware they gave us, wiped the outside of the containers with a Clorox wipe and threw all of the bags in my outside garbage bin. I wiped the door of my car down too, because I sat the credit card clipboard on it I'm thinking one sick person signing their credit card might infect people.
I'm 62 with Lupus, and I take care of my 89 and 85 year old parents. We're not getting out much.

They should have the Chick Fil A drive thru workers manning the Covid test sites. We could have the whole country tested in a week.
Picture worthy!

There's a chinese spot not far from my house. I doubt they survive this whole ordeal.
Typically, they are almost always packed. I went a week ago and it was empty. I asked how has business been, and he said they have literally had only 8 customers all day, and this was near closing time. Last time I drove by the store was closed at a time when they are usually open.
I hope they can recoup. They are the only local Chinese spot that I trust.

They are getting crushed right now - a lot of already had to close.
My brother has one where they are just barely able to break even - the other he will need to close soon.

Yep. They were closed for 3 years. I'm guessing they didn't have flood insurance and had to do the repairs as they had funds available. Either way, it sucks for places like this.

Walk Ons in Spring, TX opened, yesterday. I haven't been eating out, but gave them some of my money, and a good tip for the waitstaff.

Passed by one here in Houston the last two days- had at least 15-20 cars in line, even a cop directing traffic!!
At least some companies are having good profits!

Same here. Have discovered a new pizza place that has 5 stars on Google and a new Vietnamese place that has good reviews that I haven't tried yet but will this weekend.
I wanted to cook some pork chops but put them in the freezer for now.
