‘We’ will. As soon as the oxygen window is expired tomorrow. The last two days have been one hell of an expensive charade. They were gone the second they lost contact. Tomorrow it becomes another expensive and fruitless wreckage and recovery mission where every little piece of ocean debris found the next 6 months is over analyzed on the internet and in the ‘media’.

NASA helped design this piece of shite death trap so its kind of a stalemate
Nah. The company was busy leading people to believe that and both NASA and Univ of Wash both put out statements that they consulted on the project but didn’t build it.
quote:
“NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center had a Space Act Agreement with OceanGate and consulted on materials and manufacturing processes for the submersible,” the statement said. “NASA did not conduct testing and manufacturing via its workforce or facilities, which was done elsewhere by OceanGate.”

Redundancy is required across many areas in commercial flight so why not in commercial submersible vehicles
Because commercial flight is so commonly used and because air traffic is infinity times greater than the “traffic” at the bottom of the ocean meaning what happens on one plane can affect a lot of other planes.

I mean, to be fair....
....they weren't "gone the second they lost communication" the other times it happened.

Here's a "We didn't build it" from the University of Washington link
and a mention early on of a company that had offices nearby and worked with composites.

There's nothing left of them to find.

According to some guy that was on insider edition, he says the sub loses communication everytime. I'm guessing these guys got lost, and ended up beneath the ocean floor. The CEO didn't want to turn back because that means lost revenue. It was most likely a slow death for these people.

That's the same dude who went to a Blink 182 show a night or two ago. I get that everyone processes grief differently but good lord he is sure good at making it look like he's counting down the seconds until his inheritance kicks in.

They did this to themselves. They signed a waiver and had to know exactly what they were getting into. The only consolation is the stupid owner / CEO is with them to suffer same fate. He cut corners and ignored safety, and hired unqualified to make this thing?
