All throughout time 20% was considered a pretty damn good tip. And that was to be waited on multiple times during the course of a night...

Now many of these delivery apps start at 20% and work up to 30%.

I'm not paying 30% for someone for someone to hand me a bag of food. Especially on top of delivery fees.
Really now.

As someone who worked in the service industry for several years in a few different roles, I have always been an advocate for generous tipping. However,

20% and work up to 30%.

For delivery, this is nonsense.

Well, cost of living is out of control. So there’s that.

I always tip 25-30%

I have a solution to this. Live just outside the delivery radius of all those clip joint delivery services. What I want, I go get myself.

Especially since you’re paying 30% more for the food

If you eat out and have cocktail and a craft beer or two that cost 8-10 bucks a piece why should I pay 20% on that?

Just curious

If you didn’t drink alcohol and had a water or soft drink your bill is sig less abs waitress did same amount of work.

Half those restaurant websites seem to expect a tip (usually starting at 15%) even when you are picking up your own order. Absolutely ridiculous.

Even places like subway now make you go through a tip screen before you pay. Guess this is Biden’s America.

If service is at least decent I’ll always tip 20%. If they give over the top level of service, I’ll do up to 25%. That’s at an actual restaurant.

20% for food delivery is more than plenty.

Btw, said it here before, if you do order Waitr or anything for food. Look online for a free delivery code. There’s always one. That usually covers tip money itself.

Yea the tipping on to go food is pretty absurd. Went to one the other day and their options were 18, 20, and 25 percent. 18% minimum to stick my food in a to go box and bring it to the to go counter is ridiculous. Happy to say I have never ordered from one of the food delivery places in my life.

My alcohol budget has received a big influx of funds since I left Houston and moved to the country. I spent way too much money on Doordash.

So if you get dressed, fight traffic, burn gas, and wait to be seated you're willing to tip 20% or more to a person who walks your sweet tea and meal from the kitchen to your table. But if a driver gets dressed, fights traffic, burns his/her own gas, waits at the restaurant for your meal and delivers it to your fat arse on the couch, you don't think they deserve a decent tip. Got it.

If you wouldn’t be so busy sniffing S’ arse hole, you’d understand that tips automatically rise with the cost of living, and it’s pretty proportional.
