Looked like everyone showed up about 11:30, did the countdown, and then left. At 12:30 their time, they were sweeping the streets

Also, during the 10 o'clock news, they showed downtown BR Red Stick drop. There was no one there. The band was playing to an empty field.

You can't drink, so there is no reason to hang around after.

I think they shut it down, for security reasons and to get it cleaned up.

Yep...midnight on a Tuesday night in February/early March a ceremony happens at midnight on Bourbon St to clean the streets after 2 straight weeks of a straight up party in a city 1/9th the size of NYC.

Please step away from you Barefoot Champagne and Milwaukee's Best.

I've never had barefoot champagne or the beast. I'm from New Orleans and was just making an observation and comparison to someplace clearing out.

As soon as the ball drops you have to haul arse to find a place to use the bathroom. I went several years back and your options are to hold it and stay in line, get out of line and lose your spot, or piss in the street. I went to the ball drop 10 years ago and it was the same day I met my future wife's mother so pissing in the street was out of the question. Neat experience but one of those that I have no desire to repeat.
