King of Thorns by Mark Lawrence. Sequel to Prince of Thorns. Protagonist is not a nice guy. Do not read if you expect the main character to have any kindness or virtue in any way. I've really enjoyed the series so far.

I. The middle of reading the Colleen McCollough historical fiction series on the late Roman republic. So far I've read The First Man In Rome and The Grass Crown.
Very good reading. Heavier on historical than on fiction. I wish It was a little more physically descriptive of the places where it rakes place but the characterizations and the storylines and structure are excellent. And it definitely keeps me turning the pages.

Been reading some Sherlock Holmes and listening to the audio books of the Lies of Locke Lamora trilogy.
Might read 11/22/63 next.

I have Catcher in the Rye and Confederacy of Dunces sitting on my nightstand, thanks to the recent "best books" thread. They are two of my "I can't believe I haven't read these yet" books.
