Nah....nothing to see here. Just the US government attempting to force a foreign company to sell its property to an American company so that it can have more direct control over it.
A big part of me wishes Elon would buy it....just to watch the panties twist.

Shows how ignorant you are. TikTok won’t be taken down. US govt just doesn’t want China controlling it. Govt wants to control all social media sites for political purposes which is why they are telling Bytedance to sell TikTok so our govt can control it. TikTok isn’t going anywhere.

The only reason the left are supporting this bill is because it gives them sweeping and unilateral power to also shutdown Twitter or any other app they deem as owned or controlled or influenced by a foreign adversary.

Yup. This isn’t about China. Meta has Chinese investors. More importantly it has members of Congress with millions in investments and donations. This will also be used to restrict free speech.
There is a massive Conservative/Libertarian community on TikTok. A lot of the videos exposing the lies about the “war” in Ukraine originated on TikTok.
