In LA, you have to prove that the lie caused a financial loss. Libel and slander are very difficult to prove in this state.

Kind of related...I watch Ronald Jones, who is running for Judge, speed through the school zone in front of Westdale Heights this morning. It's a pretty dumb move when your name and picture are on the side of your Mercedes SUV.
