You are correct stout. I don’t think the site will he found liable in any way but I’m pretty sure they will rule in favor of the plaintiff and require the site to turn over the relevant information on the poster.

Yea Fightingtigers2335 was sued for defamation due to his postings on TD.com years ago and lost the case. TD.com wasn't held liable for any of it.

But isn't someone running for office a public figure? Proving libel and slander against that is much more difficult IIRC.
