I’m sure they were but who gives a shite? Just post a false statement about them if you are so concerned. Don’t whine to the courts like a pussy.

You are correct stout. I don’t think the site will he found liable in any way but I’m pretty sure they will rule in favor of the plaintiff and require the site to turn over the relevant information on the poster.

I am pretty sure that cases have already been brought against internet forums and their responsibility for what users post as far as defamation goes and the outcome is usually it's not the site's fault unless they actively promote the defamation.
Which is exactly the way it should work

Yea Fightingtigers2335 was sued for defamation due to his postings on TD.com years ago and lost the case. TD.com wasn't held liable for any of it.

So a throwaway email address and an IP in Uzbekistan? Seems like a valuable use of court resources.

You assume the average person is that smart and tech savvy

Chicken just trying to hide the fact that the site is hosted and staffed in Texas.

Wait, do you mean that someone sucessufully sued this fighting tiger guy because of something he said on an internet forum?
If so I might need to be more careful of what I say. shite.

No but I'd imagine that a person wanting to come on here and liable/slander someone would be.
You'd hope

But isn't someone running for office a public figure? Proving libel and slander against that is much more difficult IIRC.

Can we sue for reposts or nah?
Posted on 11/13/19 at 8:14 am to MrLarson
Lots of deleting/ shuffling around the posts in this thread by admins. Not a good look if the courts got a hold of the edit history. Ha

I guess the courts could hold tiger droppings liable if they were found trying to suppress evidence

Do you have a vested interested in this case?
