Phuket’s popular Tiger Kingdom zoo
I spent two weeks in Phuket and didn't know they had a zoo. I guess that's not what I look for when I'm abroad tho.

Big cats especially tigers are living monsters, I've seen what a pissed off house cat can do so no way I'm getting that close to a tiger.

I work with a guy that used to volunteer at a zoo, worked with the big cats and got pretty knowledgeable about them and used to "handle" them and show them to visitors, pretty interesting stories but he said, at least in the zoo setting, they give you a subtle, but clear warning that they don't want to be fricked with right now and more or less give you the opportunity to leave, or else, that tiger must have been having a shitty day

That man’s scream is just a primal scream of pure terror.

No they aren’t. They’re probably the weakest and most timid of all living things on earth. Just ask the esteemed LSU vet staff. Tigers are so timid they can’t even ride around a football field in a cage 7 times a year without severe neurological damage.

I know nothing about tigers, but I could clearly tell that tiger was saying, "dude you better get that damn stick outta my face right now."

I was always cautious before even putting my face right next to my non-aggressive dog's face and I knew my dog for 13 years.

No way would I put my face right next to a tiger's face.

Just a regular house cat can turn on you so quickly. This guy didn't have an ounce of common sense.

Watched a big cat documentary during an insomnia spell recently. whole new level of respect for tigers and jaguars. Obviously lions are scary for a reason, but I did not realize how strong and capable tigers are. Tigers are considered the strongest of the big cats but can also jump up to 16 ft in the air to boot. Jarguars are considered strongest int he pound for pound category. No way i'd be walking around with one like that.

A 3rd world tiger petting zoo sounds like a horrible idea.

Humans are apex predators due to our brains and communication skills (to coordinate an attack.

A human alone and unarmed is not an apex predator. This dude figured this out a little late.

Leopards too - they can drag a carcass more than twice their body weight into the top of a tree to eat.
