And yet 90+% of the posters in this thread wore flip flops or Crocs on their last flight and bitched that they could have booked on Spirit for $3.50 cheaper???

These photos are all from upper decks in 747's. Definitely not coach...the poors weren't allowed upstairs.

Amazing how so many things have advanced technologically, yet commercial air travel has gotten progressively worse over the last few decades.

These days, it's Greyhound with wings.

If I can drive it in a day (sun up to sun down), I'm not flying. It's just not worth it.

I commented on this in another thread. Flight prices need to go up to keep at least some of the trash off of these planes. I swear it looked and smelt like I was on a greyhound bus. Also I just can’t take the huge arse yoga pants wearing crowd. When in the hell did these humongous yoga pants become standard flying attire? I mean have at least some semblance of self respect or modesty. It honestly looks like they are in a contest on who can dress the trashiest both men and women.

Yeah but the tech is at an all-time high.

The coffee tends to suck. I'm guessing that on the ground it's probably not bad.

I prefer flying private.

Been there, done that, on the company dime. The no checking baggage and no security is nice, but flying in that tiny jet is not my cup of tea, give me the big plane. Also, a lot of smaller jets had a seat that went over the toilet... not exactly where I want to sit either. We at least go business class when it was available, international flight was first class but I never flew international for work.

Oh, and yeah, the people that fly private now would be the only ones that could afford a plane packed that loosely...

I never got to fly on a 747 and I regret it. I've flown on every other 7 series, but I never did get a chance to fly a route on the Queen. I think Lufthansa is probably my best chance to get a ride on one before they're all gone.

For many years this was considered the greatest commercial ever made. It won a Clio Award.

One of the first flights I took as a kid was on a double decker Singapore airlines flight.

They had slot machines which paid out real money and everyone on the flight was smoking

Someone will have surely have a better number for your destinations but the last time my firm chartered a plane for one of my cases it was a round trip to Seattle from Charlotte, 7 passengers on board (it was an 8 passenger jet) was right at $60k expensed to the client. I have no idea about the details or whether we get a good deal or a shitty deal.

They did. I flew on them from Memphis to BTR. We had a stopover in Greenville, MS and on landing the aircraft suffered a compressor stall on one of the engines. Spent hours in the terminal waiting on the maintenance crew to arrive to inspect and release the aircraft back to service. I think the only sound heard in the cabin on the takeoff roll were some prayers being whispered.

Southern Airways was also the airline that crashed with the Marshall University Football Team aboard killing all.

That's awesome. Reminds me of the boxcar scenes in Doctor Zhivago.
