They need to start showing the brutal aftermath of these wrecks in drivers ed classes. Not just the wrecked cars, they need to start showing the photos of the mutilated bodies to prove to young people that they are not invincible. After I saw Porsche girl I instantly payed more attention to my driving and slowed the frick down.
They showed us “Red Asphalt” but that’s probably not typical.

I know you cannot control everything but things like this are the reason I have always and still to this day tell my now adult kids “be careful” when they leave to go anywhere.
So sad.
So sad.

We are visiting our son in Florida for Christmas. Our boys are 25 and 18 and they went out to see the city and meet up with friends. Told them to be careful and we love them. Still get nervous for then when I read these stories. Breaks my heart thinking about those families. So very sad.

So edgy.
Is it bravery or stupidity to be ranking three dead underage high school girls on a public forum?

Man this is the type of event that parents are never able to get past. Prayers for the parents and survivors.

What a choice of a Christmas message you posted.
Thanks, you’ve made everyone better by posting it.
Couldn’t find anything about cancer & kids?

Alabama schools don't offer driver education anymore.
You have to get private lessons.
Back when I took driver education, we had to cut pictures of wreck articles out of the newspapers and explain what the driver did wrong.

A. You’re not the boss of me
B. I didn’t need knowing something terrible to make me continue to do something good that I’m already doing
C. If one of those young ladies were your kid, would you want random strangers pouring over her tragic story right after her demise? (HINT: The appropriate answer is in the negative)

Alabama absolutely does offer drivers ed in high school. The school my son attends it is a require for graduation.

Man...that’s fricking awful.
One of my best friends (really more of a brother than a friend) lost his sister in a wreck when she was 16 two other girls perished as well. Just going to a high school football game. Beautiful girl, incredibly bright, fun person to be around. There are no words to describe the anguish that my friend and his family and the rest of us felt.
There could be no words to say to those parents and family that would assuage their bereavement. Man that’s incredibly sad. If any of y’all know these families, wrap your arms around them and pray that our Father in heaven would put his healing grace on them and ease their sorrow in time.

They were all in the front seat per the article —do any newer cars actually fit three in the front??
As a parent I still tell my 27, 22 and almost 19 yo be careful when they leave and I love you. You never ever know.

What an awful, awful tragedy. Prayers to their poor families and I hope these young ladies rest in peace. These stories hurt my heart, especially with daughters of my own.
My heart goes out to these poor parents. Christmas and life will never be the same.

My dad is the same with his 29, 27, 26 (me), and 23 year old sons when we leave.

shite, I tell my parents in their 60s to drive safe when they leave. Now that I think about it, that's my standard good bye statement for everyone.
"Yall drive safe"

I just found out about this through Instagram. This is one of the most awful things, I cannot imagine what the parents and rest of the community is feeling right now. It hits a little bit closer to home for me; the girl in the middle and I have known each other for a little over a year. I don't know if you would classify us as friends but we checked up on one another through snapchat occasionally. Emilee was a truly special person. RIP Em.

Can you imagine?
Families notwithstanding....being a kid that went to school with them. I had a friend killed in an accident when I was 17. It fricked me up bad. I think if I had lost three at once I’d have never been the same. God bless their families, friends and classmates. This is absolutely awful.

My niece knows the families and taught the girls in school. She is totally devastated right now. Terrible, tragic, heartbreaking, good Lord, I cannot even find a word for this.

Damn that car is fricked. Surprised anyone survived.

Story
quote:
The group had been together for Christmas at someone’s home and were headed elsewhere in small sport-utility vehicle. Per Geneva Police Lt. Michael McDuffie, the damage indicated that the vehicle, driven by Martin, was traveling at a high rate of speed when it left the road at the top of a hill and went into a wooden area off Westville Avenue. The speaed limit in the area was 25 MPH.
