Story
quote:

Geneva police Lt. Michael McDuffie told AL.com the crash happened about 6 p.m. The victims, he said, topped a hill, lost control and the vehicle hit a tree. They had to be extricated from the wrecked car. Cassidy, Emilee and Addyson were pronounced dead on the scene.

Losing a child is likely one of the worst experiences in humankind, but losing a child on Christmas has to be even worse. Such a horrible story.

Very sad. Every parents nightmare is getting that call or knock on the door.
RIP young ladies and condolences to families and friends.

Christmas is forever ruined for three families.

Cassidy, Emilee and Addyson, may you rest in peace forever surrounded by the presence of God's warm sunlight and we will pray for your families and friends and hope they find peace after this.

There were five girls in the car. Teen drivers should be restricted to one passenger when not accompanied by an adult. These type of accidents are far too common.

Would not be able to celebrate Christmas again for a very long time if ever. Prayers to their families.

Comments section suggests that the car was a Christmas given earlier that morning. Nightmare scenario as a parent and a terrible lesson for their friends and classmates to learn.

In some states they are.. not sure if Alabama is one of them.

In any case, i think it’s stupid that 16 and 17 year olds are allowed to drive at all in the US.. I believe (too lazy to look it up) that in Europe, and in most countries, drivers must be at least 18... not sure the exact ages of these girls, and not saying 18 years old is a fully developed human- but ya gotta draw the line somewhere, and i think 18 should be the minimum age to drive, at least.

* full disclosure- i learned to drive at 13 years old, but that was probaly stupid of my parents to allow.

Horrible. I have 3 kids.... 20, 18, and 15. Always worry about them and every time I hear about a wreck on a route they take it makes my heart stop. Praying for all their family & friends.

Geneva was in my territory and is a small town. I am sure this impacts the entire community and prayers sent to the families. So tragic.

My dad got me and my siblings single cab pickup trucks for this reason alone when we got our licenses. He wanted to make sure we haul around as little of our friends as possible, discourage any frick ups and minimize any possible losses from a big wreck.

Talking about something like this.
