fired/laid
Seems to be a big difference between these two terms.

Why would you think someone selling to O & G would be safe? What the hell would make you think that? What could they possible be selling?
Measurement sector, it never stops and there are a zillion meters in the Arklatex, always need parts, transmitters, radios, cell modems, etc.
It takes millions of dollars a year just to upkeep the Haynesville/Hosston/Cotton Valley Fields

Nothing in O&G is safe.
Nothing
Nothing

My company pushed back raises to October to help keep people who were about to be fired, hired until June.
Telecommunications.
We actually need a lot of help right now. Projects are starting to pile up.

Most restaurants are done forever without massive bailouts

The ridiculousness of true believers.. it shakes your belief system when challenged.

It’s not just restaurants. Most small businesses have either had to close or seen their revenues drop off steeply. And what’s worse is the $350 billion loan fund approved a few weeks ago has run dry. And Democrats in Congress are holding up any more funds. They cant last much longer like things are now.

What was artificially propping up the restaurant industry?

Should have gotten a better job

Seems like you’re the fricking idiot. He doesn’t deny the pandemic. He is discussing the pending financial ruin that is looming and will impact far more people than the pandemic.
You’re seeming inability to move on to the next looming crisis is ban worthy.

Do you mind telling me which company the O&G friend worked for? I’m similarly situated.

Apparently it does or else he would still have a job.

That's cute

Not trying to be cute. I don’t want to see anyone lose their job. What’s the explanation?

Havoc got a raise collecting unemployment. He hopes this never ends.

We WERE in a big restaurant bubble, at least in NOLA. I have a friend who is an owner/managing partner of several French Quarter restaurants, and he’s been saying so for the past couple of years.

Restaurants have always had very high failure rates. If more people open restaurants, the failure rate will go higher.
But unless there was something artificially propping up demand, I'm not sure how you describe it as a bubble. Millennials aren't going to stop eating out any time soon. We're quite fond of it.
