I haven't agreed with all that I've seen you post on this subject. But I've always respected your opinion and thoughts. And even though I may not have agreed entirely, you still always made valid arguments and made me look deeper.

I also agree with all that you said in this post.

So many people are entirely too naive and ignorant about how the economy works it's infuriating.

So much this.

These people have been indoctrinated with these high level ideas that aren't based in reality and are impossible when put in practice.

And when you try to just explain it, just a little, they get so flippant that what you are saying can't be true you get called names that are insane.

I don't know what to do about this but it really gets to me.

There always was an economic practical reality. You just didn't/don't recognize the damage that has already been done.

Link?

Pretty sure pretty much all of my posts up to this one have been about biology, which would make this statement a strawman drawn from your assumed opinions of my “stance”

I’ve been running ragged these past few weeks trying to keep my segment of the food supply chain running. I’d imagine I have had a pretty good view of the damage that’s been done.

The only positive thing for me is I’m still full time working.

Why? Are you running low on food in your area?

It’s not the raw materials. It’s the processing of them at suppliers upstream of us that’s the problem. So far we’ve been able to avoid interruption of orders for the most part but we’ve have had to be creative, both at sourcing and in house production. In some cases crashing policies that involve 120 hour holds to going straight from a line to a truck. Customers have also taken product that was literally less than a week from expiring simply because they were desperate for whatever they can get.

And this is in spite of running at around 20% capacity due to servicing primarily institutional venues (schools, restaurants, stadiums, etc).

Hearing similar things from friends who work at other plants. Meat for retail packaging in particular is starting to get scarce.

Since as of yesterday Louisiana has a total of 1545 people in hospitals and 208 on vents with Louisiana having a population of 4.5 million.

I think we should stay closed another month or two or until those numbers go to zero!

I mean we all would rather go into a depression than have a working economy if it only saves one life!
