I have a kid going to LSU in the fall. She will be living in The Cottages. What are some of your thoughts on the place before and after the murders taken place.

No pics of daughter. Sorry.

DO NOT send them to the Cottages. They do not care about the safety of their residents. Prohibiting law abiding residents from having a gun for protection in their rooms is a big flashing light to future criminals to go there, knowing there will be little resistance.

The Cottages are a violent crack den nowadays.

The original thread posting about and detailing the murders stated how bad it got after change of owners/management. It clearly seems dangerous. No matter what the deposit costs you, eat the cost and pay for her to go somewhere else. No amount of money is worth putting you daughter at risk

This is what happens to older areas when they keep building new complexes. In order for these areas to continue functioning, they have to take in section 8 and other shitty people.

Yup, uber drivers won't even pick up or drop off there anymore for fear of their safety. And most of those guys are drug dealers.

Before, I thought it was a bland, sterile, cookie cutter living environment that only students with no taste lived in.

Now, I think it's a bland, sterile, cookie cutter living environment that only crackheads, thieves, and murderers live in.

You must not be concerned with the well-being of your daughter.

Those "über drivers" are undercover cops who are busting criminals for weed possession.

Most of the responses you will get well not be from current students and from guys with no knowledge of what the cottages are actually like.

I'd say a lot of places have in writing you aren't to have guns. I'm pretty sure we do. I'll have to check the wording on our 500 million page lease.

But, we don't do anything to really enforce it unless it is a good reason to get someone we are having lots of issue with OUT. It's a lot harder to get someone out legally if not for non-payment. Gotta use what you can

We did have someone once at one of our properties have a gun go off accidentally and come through a neighbor's wall. I wasn't there but I'm pretty sure they had to leave.

But we see guns in apartments frequently and ignore it.

Eta: just a lot of words to pretty much say the cottages aren't alone in the no firearms thing.

You can't have a gun there? I must've not read that part when I signed a lease for a summer a while back. Whoops

If the bullets don't get you, the rampant mold will.

I hope you have an allergist on retainer.
