I say frick the cry babies. I saw this crap earlier and how they cherry picked videos and photos only showing the bias they were promoting. Show the whole video. I want to see the cause and the effect. Not just the effect. BRPD showed America how these situations should be handled.

It was beautiful to watch our law enforcement be in control as they should be.

I live right there in Beauregard town where this took place.
They are being dramatic. The police never got close to the protesters. They were on opposite ends of France street. I sat on my porch with my feet up, drinking beer, and watched the whole thing. It was pretty entertaining. I have some video but i don't know how to post it from my phone.

Well, there's a credible threat of being fired upon so really hard to fault them.

They were properly equipped for the task at hand.

Especially in light of the events in Dallas. Some people are really dumb.

I also viewed it as a training exercise in case of potential future bad news situations (like the officers getting off)

The officers don't get a lot of chances to practice tactics in live-action. Anyone with a brain knew exactly what they were doing, besides shutting any inkling of violence down. They practiced a wide-variety of tactics.

I think it's excellent to show extra muscle and intimidating these idiots in the streets. They are all scared and groups at a time are spending the night in Parish Prison.

They may not deal with protests all the time but between: LSU games, Events at the superdome/BR convention center, parades/mardi gras, hurricanes, etc. it is clear they are very well versed in large crowd events where things get a little rowdy.

Very proud of the way they have handled everything so far.

I would want to wear all of that stuff in order to protect myself in that hostile environment. Never know when one of the protesters could pull a gun.

In the protest at city hall, police didn't have to push anyone around because they wasn't breaking the law.

At other areas of protest, by getting in the roadway and breaking the law. They deserved to be pushed around.

Most of us were watching live from all points of view. Don't put up photos of civil rights marches of the past and put up a photo of BRPD and other Louisiana Law Enforcement and try to draw some cheap arse emotional response.

I think it makes our police force down here look good. I mean they aren't fricking around and they aren't letting the shite that went down make them soft.

Good for them and I hope they keep it up. It makes the rest of us that have jobs and don't have problems with the authority of the police feel safe.

I agree. This article kind of rubbed me the wrong way. So many things could have went wrong, but everything went smoothly for the most part.

Considering this:

LINK

I have no issue with them being deployed with "military style" gear. We live in a different world these days sadly.

How many complete breakdowns of order happened? How many stores were burned and/or looted? How much monetary damage overall was done by the crowds? How long were major roads shut down for? Was the physical damage to officers from flying debris kept to a minimum? How many bystanders were seriously injured? Were there any fatalities?

Given the answers to those questions, I'd say the LEO's did a mighty fine job.

Exactly. They put down the out-of town troublemakers with the quickness.

It was masterful.

But BLM and SJWs didn't get their way. It's just so unfair.

I always wonder this in the Militarization threads...

How is an armored vehicle a problem? It is a completely DEFENSIVE object. No one ever has been killed by an armored vehicle (cue a tank running over someone in war, I mean a police vehicle).

A vest, a helmet? Same thing. If you want to argue about them having a rifle then fine but I think the guy up in a building in Dallas put an end to that argument.
