Understood.

You had to know though, that his position here is right in line with his party's platform. This should not be a shock to anyone.

He managed to keep the campaign focused on Vitter's issue from 2007 and not his classic Democratic voting record.

He ran an excellent campaign.

Yes, but thanks to your mindset, people are never faced with that decision. They don't have to chose whether to work or eat. They choose not to work and the government gives them food, shelter, reduced housing, medical care and pretty much anything else they need to survive.

And for some they go ahead and rob others for the "extras" in life.

It seems that South Park was correct in what choice you had for governor....Giant Douche or Turd Sandwich. Not sure which one y'all got though.

It's a travesty the Republican party couldn't put up a more viable candidate than Vitter.

Now we have this dimwit that wants to give away the house and promote it's okay to not have to work to put food on the table.

This! I don't understand what's the gain from doing this? Can a Democrat explain this to me how this would help anything?

The people who originally voted for Vitter has this on their hands. This is the reason why Dems can laugh at Republicans. Angelle or Dar-dar would've been huge upgrades.

Because clearly rounding up "stupid" people and executing them is the same thing as not giving them food stamps when they are able bodied, have no dependents, and refuse to work.

The transition team said about $72 million in benefits flows to the state annually under SNAP. "The entire $72 million is federally funded and will not require any additional state funds to continue," the team's statement said.

This quote explains it, but people don't bother to read all the facts of an issue....they just slobber like dogs when they hear about "welfare recipients".

States like Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi get far more back from the federal government than they send up there.

Yes, there are a lot of worthless people playing the system and getting Food Stamps. But when push comes to shove the whole program is a CORPORATE subsidy.

Alabama has recently ended their ABAWD waiver, fwiw, and now people in that category can only get three months of benefits without meeting the 20 hour per week requirement, and a total of six months in a 36 month period.

The disabled are not considered to be "able bodied"

Homeless are exempt from ABAWD provisions. A person can also claim to perform work for "in kind" rent.

Elections have consequences. The voters get what they vote for.

Elections are a vote for good policy, not feeling good about a candidate and shite like this is just a good reminder of that.

Vitter would only be fricking hookers, JBE will screw Louisiana.

It was predictable. All the anti-whore banging Republicans are getting what they deserve.

He's a good, Christian, West Point grad that's gonna tax and spend like a mofo for at least the next 4 years.

And the thing is, the so called republican statehouse is actually very powerless to stop him. The Governor regardless of party, controls the legislature like they're on a leash with the line item veto. There's other things that I could mention to reaffirm just how powerful the Governor of Louisiana is to give people a lesson why they need to be much more careful voting for Governor and vote on policy and not feelings.

When those republicans start moaning and whining about it, I'm gonna tell them to shut the frick up and sit the frick down. They voted for that shite instead of a candidate that would not govern like a liberal and actually had conservative bona fides.

More garbage!! Food stamps and welfare were meant to be a temporary help. Liberals are enslaving America's poor into a form of socialism replying on the government- Especially the students. They think our country can afford to put everybody on food stamps.

Horrible reasoning. (or were you joking?)

I know a dude that actually graduated from HS and was unable to read or write. This was before all the LEAP testing, passed because he was a nice guy. Very low IQ. But hardest working guy I know. He grosses over $425K/year and owns his own business. His wife keeps the books. He works 7 days a week when business is busy, and keeps care of the house and property.

Why do you think people with low IQ computes to lazy?
