The poli board sucks and the OT is just more fun so...
From the Business Report...

What do y'all think about Governor Edwards removing the work requirement for food stamps for those able to work?

quote:

Gov.-elect John Bel Edwards intends to remove work requirements that Gov. Bobby Jindal has enacted for more than 60,000 food stamp recipients, job mandates that were challenged in a federal lawsuit last week.

The work requirements are supposed to kick in Jan. 1 for adults ages 18 to 49 without children. To receive food stamps through the Supplemental Nutrition and Assistance Program, or SNAP, those childless adults will have to work at least 20 hours per week or be enrolled in a federally approved job training program.

Buying future votes on the tax payers dime is not a bad idea if you can get away with it.

Is working 20 hours a week when you have no one but yourself to support really that big a hurdle to jump to get food stamps?

Damn.

It was predictable. All the anti-whore banging Republicans are getting what they deserve.

He's a good, Christian, West Point grad that's gonna tax and spend like a mofo for at least the next 4 years.

His claim of there not being very many job training programs in Louisiana is legit but reversing this is ridiculous.

Pfffft... you probably get more back in EITC than I do but that doesn't mean you pay in.
