You had to know though, that his position here is right in line with his party's platform. This should not be a shock to anyone.
He managed to keep the campaign focused on Vitter's issue from 2007 and not his classic Democratic voting record.
No I'm not that surprised. But I didn't follow the election that close and I though Edwards might not be a Dem clone. All the republicans had to do was run Dardenne or someone else besides Vitter to win.

He asked for an extension not to remove it.
Did you read it?
He also said this:
quote:
The governor-elect said Louisiana’s high unemployment rate qualifies it to skip the work mandate.
quote:
I intend to use this extension for 2016 to work with the (Department of Children and Family Services) and the legislature to develop programs that offer workforce training and assistance to those on SNAP benefits,
If you believe that La.'s unemployment rate will dramatically drop over the next year, or that he really believes he will develop programs that offer training and assistance over the next year, well.......all I can say is.........
Bwahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

Funny how all of the religious nutjob "conservatives" wouldn't vote for Vitter because of something he did years ago in his personal life and got JBE elected.

Glad he won't be my governor.
Nothing makes want to actually fight someone more than when I'm in line checking out and see a woman (usually 200-300 pounds) check out with food stamps, then walk out to her lexus or bmw

I wonder what took Jindal so long to implement it in the first place?

I think disabled adults fall into this category too although that's not Edwards' soap box he's standing on. He's asking for an extension in 2016 so he can set up more job training programs.
No, disabled adults are exempted from the required work requirements. This is just for able body adults who refuse to work.

Edwards will be a disaster for Louisiana

These requirements are a horrible idea and just puts more fuel onto the fire that Louisiana is the laughingstock of the nation (Mississippi be damned).

He's a good, Christian, West Point grad that's gonna tax and spend like a mofo for at least the next 4 years.
I hope it's eight years of the wildest most outrageous Democrat policy excess because the voters of Louisiana need to learn a hard life lesson and the ONLY way they are gonna learn it is to learn it The Hard Way.
So I hope it REALLY REALLY hurts because that's the ONLY language that 96 percent of the human race understands: PAINFUL consequences of their own stupid life-decisions.

those childless adults will have to work at least 20 hours per week
What percentage of recepiants is this exactly? I would guess it is probably a single digit number.

I hope we can see an upward trend over the next few years. Louisiana could use some good news.

frick JBE and all you suckers that voted for him. I love Louisiana, but I HATE, HATE, HATE the ignorant weak minded people that willingly vote for these kind of assclowns in this state.

So happy you guys thought we actually gave a shite of Vitter stepped out with prostitutes
No one cared, we just used it to play into the narrative of the 'family values' conservatives.
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....
LONG LIVE EMPEROR JBE!

Is working 20 hours a week when you have no one but yourself to support really that big a hurdle to jump to get food stamps?
